Move over, blue – there’s a daring new eye shadow look for summer 2019, and it’s sending us green with envy!
When Camilla Belle stepped out at the Golden Globes wearing that shade of eye shadow, beauty-trend spotters the world over let out a little squeal of delight and made it official – green is the new black!
Think going green sounds a little scary? Fear not – to make it work for you, it’s all about choosing the right shade of green eyeshadow. At the accessible end of the scale, olive green works well on most skin tones, but even knock-out emerald green shadow can be easy to work. Just go for a green that suits your eye colour. If you have lighter eyes, a darker green will give them extra intensity and a ‘pop’, and darker eye colours look beautiful with lighter, more vibrant shades of green.
To create a smoky green eye, matte green shadow works really well on the crease and lower lash line and feels really modern. Feel like putting on the glitz? Sweep a bold flick of shimmery green shadow along the upper lash line and keep the rest of the look super simple, with glowing skin and a peachy-nude lip to let those eyes shine. We love a bolder, more directional take on green eyes, too, so to get a look straight from the red carpet, simply halo the shadow onto lids and the lower lash line using your Spotlite HD, à la Camilla Belle
Now that you’re ready to go green, we’ve picked a few of our fave products to help you get the look! We’re loving their cult Eye Pigment in Mermaid Parade.
